Get to know Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Shane Hennessy, who serves patients throughout the State of Pennsylvania.

As an experienced sports medicine specialist, Dr. Hennessy practices within The Orthopedic Group with offices in California, Charleroi, and Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. He treats patients of all ages and all types of musculoskeletal injuries with an emphasis on conservative, non-surgical management. His other areas of focus include concussion management, running medicine, and regenerative medicine, including platelet-rich plasma. In good standing with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. With a broad educational background, Dr. Hennessy studied Neuroscience and Psychology at Allegheny College. He then received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. He completed a fellowship with UPMC Sports Medicine, during which he was the fellowship team physician for the Fox Chapel High School football team, the Saint Vincent College football team, and the University of Pittsburgh men’s basketball team.
